Hispanocare, Inc. Program

What is it?
Hispanocare is a not-for-profit PPO network of more than 200 bilingual and bicultural providers representing nearly 300 office locations. The program provides quality, cost-effective health care to Chicago's Latino community in a culturally sensitive manner.

Who is it for?
Chicago’s Latino community.

Why do they do it?
To ease the financial burden, providers agree to give enrollees a 20 percent discount on all out-of-pocket expenses. In addition, members receive discounts on other items traditionally not covered by insurance, such as podiatry, eye care, dental services, home health care and prescription drugs. Providers include a wide range of generalists and specialists.

Impact: Thousands of people have benefited directly through Hispanocare programs.  For example, in the first six months of 2008, Hispanocare touched more than 4,000 lives.
