Angry Children/ Angry Parents: Getting to Calm
What is it?
A workshop seminar that is held twice a year teaching parents skills to build stronger families.
Who is it for?
Area parents
Why do they do it?
It has been said that parenting is the most difficult job. To help, Suburban Hospital has partnered with the YMCA to organize seminars for community residents that address issues facing many parents today. In years past, seminars and workshops have highlighted issues ranging from parenting essentials to building your child's confidence. This October, Suburban Hospital and the YMCA hosted Angry Children/Angry Parents: Getting to Calm workshop address the heat of family conflict, from all angles. Over 150 attendees participated in an active dialogue with Steven Stein, LCPC, a Marriage and Family Therapist with 25 years experience to discuss what causes anger in children, how parents can help their children manage it, regain calm, and express their anger constructively.
There is a small fee that goes to the YMCA but fee waivers are available upon request.
