Senior Wellness Program

What is it? 
Keller Home Healthcare and Hospice, an affiliate of Helen Keller Hospital, in conjunction with the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments Senior Wellness Program, and the Alabama Department of Public Health, sponsor the Senior Wellness Program.  This 12 month initiative is designed to assist senior adults, age 55 and older, in developing and maintaining a healthier lifestyle.  Programs are held once each month and address a different topic each month. Topics are chosen to provide practical information and solutions to average individual healthcare issues.

Who is it for? 
Senior adults, 55 years of age and up.

Why do they do it? 
To promote wellness in this senior age category that represents approximately 15 percent of the population in Northwest Alabama.

Program Impact: 
The hospital reaches about 110 seniors each month through these monthly sessions, where senior adults learn valuable information that encourages a health lifestyle.
