THE WESTERLY HOSPITAL - Westerly, Rhode Island
The Sensational Child
What is it?
Run by the mother of a special needs child, the "Sensational Child" is one of a number of free support groups The Westerly Hospital offers to community residents. During each informal session, participants share experiences, learnings and advice. Participants offer support to each other in their quest to meet the needs of their special children. Parents of newly diagnosed children receive invaluable guidance on how to start the process of ensuring their children receive the services they need.
Who is it for?
Parents of children with special needs.
Why do they do it?
To provide information, comfort, and support to parents of special needs children from others who share a common bond.
