In the absence of health care coverage for all, hospitals are providing more and more care to those who are unable to pay. We serve all patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week regardless of their ability to pay.  Each year, hospitals provide more than $21 billion in care that’s never paid for.

The national health insurance crisis has renewed community interest in how their own hospitals meet local health care needs and helps with the financial challenges faced by uninsured and underinsured patients. The response from hospitals was a number of initiatives strengthening the hospital billings, collection, and communication practices that impact all patients.
