Butler Health System - Family First Resource Center
Butler, PA
March 19, 2007

What is it?
By increasing positive experiences through education and support, Butler Health System aims to improve the quality of life for Butler, PA residents with its Family First Resource Center.

Many services are free. Others accept most insurance or out-of-pocket payments.

The Family Center provides Educational Services, Therapy Services and Support Services - all with the focus of strengthening families. Services range from grief support for children who lost a parent to parenting classes for teen fathers, family functioning and substance abuse therapy, attention deficit disorder programs for children and vocation rehabilitation helping disabled individuals return to work.

Butler Memorial Hospital also sponsors their AmeriCorps program at the center, recruiting individuals to help local human service agencies provide support to families by sending volunteers to social service agencies throughout the county --a very atypical approach to managing health for a hospital.

Who is it for?
Area families
